All youth deserve a chance to successfully complete their academic studies and become happy, healthy productive members of their families and communities. But all too often youth with emotional and behavioral challenges are not able to achieve this. They struggle in school, have difficulty making good choices and relationships with their family, peers and community can suffer. That’s where Christina G. Smith Community Mental Health Foundation (C.G. Smith) steps in. Providing academic assistance coupled with behavior and emotional supports, C.G Smith’s programs help youth achieve academically while empowering them to develop positive emotional and behavioral health – leading to stronger coping mechanisms, better decision making and communication skills, healthier relationships and improved quality of life.

Started in 2002, C.G. Smith, a nonprofit organization, bridges youth empowerment and academic excellence in four specific strength-based, family-focused programs. Programs focus on youth between the ages of 5 to 21 who live in Broward County and need extra supports that address behavioral and emotional challenges as well as provide academic assistance.
