Christina G. Smith Community Mental Health Foundation provides comprehensive and innovative programs that enhance the emotional, social, intellectual and physical health and development of youth and their families struggling with emotional and behavioral challenges. Started in 2002, C.G. Smith, a nonprofit organization, bridges youth empowerment and academic excellence in four specific strength-based, family-focused programs. The programs are preventative, responsive and culturally competent and are conducted in a safe and well-supervised environment. Programs focus on youth between the ages of 5 to 21 who live in Broward County and need extra supports that address behavioral and emotional challenges as well as provide academic assistance. Through academic instruction and therapeutic respite, aftercare and summer programming, C.G Smith’s programs address youth’s academic needs and behavioral and emotional challenges in order for them to be academically successful and lead happy productive lives.
